1. What should you put aside? Tonight was the Biz Bee, work's annual spelling bee fundraiser..you would think I wouldn't be so nervous since it was my 6th year spelling and knew what to expect, but that honestly made me MORE nervous, since we won one year and got second and third place in other years..I felt like we had a reputation to live up to or something. Yesterday was the annual Biz Bee fundraiser for the Literacy Council (last year I was in Hawaii, and my coworker Liz took my place. They got out on the word "dieffenbachia," a type of plant. The Biz Bee last night was pretty fun. There was cake to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the bookstore! Our first word was "amicable." It bothered me so many teams got out on easyish words (easy I guess if you studied anyway) or threw words out we could have spelled (like "uitlander" and "muishond"). Tonight is the Literacy Council's annual biggest fundraiser, the Biz Bee. This is my fourth year spelling, but I'm still nervous haha. There are 16 teams, and 16 is my favorite number..so maybe that's good luck?? Haha. Hopefully we'll do well again (last year we got second place!)
